Nightlife

What would you like to do tonight? In Edmonton your choices are unlimited.

Any kind of music you like

Do you feel like sipping a lager and listening to original tunes by a singer/ songwriter who might be the next K.D. Lang? Would you prefer the big sound of a rocking stadium show? How about a classical symphony or some classic jazz? Or do you just want to shake it up on a dance floor?

Edmonton’s own Kreesha Turner is an up and coming R&B and pop music singer. Her big break came after winning a talent contest on local radio station The Bounce (91.7 FM). She recorded four tracks and entered the mainstream after striking a record deal with Capitol Music Group.

From a play to a pub stroll

Edmonton's nightlife is unique and of its own! The choices are endless: concerts, theatre, art shows, nightclubs. Some out-of-towners simply make their own way along Whyte Avenue, to check out what Edmonton's night clubs and distinct nightlife is all about. Many dine at one of Whyte Avenue's fabulous restaurants, whether it be enjoying a mexican experience at Julious Bario, indulging in Italian cuisine at Chiantis, or sampling from classic appetizers at any one of the Ave's great pubs. After, you may be dancing the night away at the Funky Budha, playing some pool with your buddies at the Billiards's Club, or just having some martinis with your girlfriends at Devlins, either way you are going to have a good time! An alternative is to enjoy some culture in the downtown arts district, head for dinner at one of the downtown's unique restaurants, and then head out for some more fun. From Halo, Oil City Roadhouse, and Vinyl dance lounge, where you can shake your sillies out, to a more low key experience at the Druid or the Pint, where some drinks, good music, and great conversation can last you all night.

See an Imax, or gaze at stars

A great evening option for families and/or the scientific-minded, the TELUS World of Science theatre and observatory function quite late. The observatory is open-air, so dress accordingly.
