Edmonton Economic Development Corporation

TEC Edmonton

TEC Edmonton is a not-for-profit agency that helps people transform technological inventions and innovations into business opportunities.  It primarily serves the Alberta Capital Region, but two programs are Alberta-wide.

TEC Edmonton helps inventors, entrepreneurs, companies and investors access expertise, facilities, management and financing to succeed in technology ventures. About 30 staff, including interns, provide assistance in three overlapping areas, represented by “TEC”: Technology, Entrepreneur & Company development.

TEC Edmonton is a joint venture of the University of Alberta and the Edmonton Economic Development Corporation (EEDC). In 2004, the programs previously offered by the Technology Transfer office and EEDC were amalgamated in one office. Edmonton City Council ratified the joint venture in 2006 and a Board of Directors has been established, primarily with private-sector representatives.

The Centre's clients range from emerging companies to small- and medium-sized companies. To learn more, visit the TEC Edmonton website.
