This is the inaugural year for the Edmonton Film Prize, a $10,000 annual cash prize to recognize an Edmonton-based filmmaker who demonstrates artistic and technical excellence as a filmmaker. The award is sponsored and administered jointly by the Edmonton Film Commission and the Edmonton Arts Council. Entries will be reviewed by an independent jury of filmmakers, presenters, broadcasters and members of the film community. The winner will be announced and the prize awarded in fall 2012.
